Thomson FM team take pride in their local environment

Last Friday (16th July) saw members of the Thomson FM team spend an afternoon volunteering with Civic Pride Rossendale, as part of our community involvement commitment. Civic Pride Rosendale are a community organisation in the Rossendale Valley, who for the last 20 years have been transforming community gardens, through an army of volunteers and the financial support of local businesses.

Thomson FM have been financial donators to Civic Pride Rossendale for several years now and Thomson FM Managing Director, Roger Thomson, is a trustee of the organisation.

Roger commented,

“With the team having been working remotely for the majority of the last 16 months, we thought it would be great to spend some time together away from the laptop screen and to help the local community here in Rossendale. Civic Pride Rossendale are an inspirational community organisation and have transformed many areas of Rosendale.”

Tasks on the day for the team were the fitting of a new gate, the clearance of weeds and painting of fences and compost boxes in an area not far from the Thomson FM office at St Mary’s Chambers, Rawtenstall.

Sue Shuttleworth, Chair of Civic Pride Rossendale thanked the team for their efforts in the sunshine,

“Huge respect to you all on Friday afternoon for working so hard despite the heat.  The fence, compost bins and new gate are looking amazing.  We would love to spend more time with you all in the future.”
