What was the Brief
To provide mobilisation and project transition support to OCS on seven BSF projects. These were made up of eleven schools located in the North East, East Midlands and West Midlands, with a focus on supporting Hard Services, Helpdesk, and all PFI Commercial elements of the projects. OCS took on the BSFI FM service contracts for these projects at very short notice following the demise of Carillion in January 2018.
What did we do
As part of the mobilisation and transition support to OCS, Thomson FM carried out the following tasks:
- Statutory Compliance Audits;
- Asset Collection Surveys;
- Site Attendance (at each site when it went live);
- Building Condition Surveys;
- Helpdesk Set Up;
- Payment Mechanism Design & Set Up;
- Ongoing Payment Mechanism Reporting Support;
- Fire Surveys;
- Fire Risk Assessment;
- Site File Set Up; and
- PFI Commercial Support.
The project is still ongoing, but to date the support provided by Thomson FM has enabled the smooth mobilisation and transition of these seven projects over to OCS. Thomson FM will continue to support OCS through the completion of the transition period in to steady state business as usual operation.
The client feedback has been consistently positive, as an example, the OCS Operations Director is known to have stated that “the support from Thomson FM has been pivotal during the mobilisation of these projects, in fact, I don’t know how we would have managed it without them”.
