What was the Brief
In 2016 we were asked to review a number of Schools contracts in Scotland under the governance of Bilfinger (Now Apleona) for contractual compliance to make sure all of the obligations within the relevant Project Agreements were being met by the service provider.
What did we do
After reviewing the contractual requirements, we created a comprehensive list of all the obligations and produced a detailed listing of all the items and whether they were compliant or not. This was RAG rated and provided an overall compliance score. We then undertook a site based review with the senior management team to provide further substance to the audit.
The Outcome
Initial findings and a report were submitted to Clackmannanshire Schools Education Partnership (CSEP) which showed that only 69% of the obligations had been met. This information was then used by CSEP to engage with the service provider to improve contractual compliance performance, which we supported. After some joint work and a follow up visit, they achieved 98% contractual compliance.
