October 2021 saw the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) Impact Awards and this year Thomson FM were delighted to be one of the awards sponsors.

Over 750 facilities management professional gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, for the most prestigious awards event in the calendar for the UK’s workplace and facilities management industry, which is now in its twenty first year.

At the 2021 awards, for the first time Thomson FM sponsored the Wellbeing Award, which we believed was a particularly pertinent award category, given the mental health challenges the coronavirus pandemic has brought to so many over the last eighteen months.

On the night, Sodexo were the worthy winners of the Wellbeing Impact Award for their frontline ‘Counselling Service’ initiative, with Mitie and CBRE part of the award shortlist.

Thomson FM Managing Director, Roger Thomson, commented,

“I believe it is testament to both our growth and burgeoning profile within the sector, that our consultancy is associated as an award sponsor, at such a prestigious and high profile event. The Wellbeing Award seemed the prefect category to support, given the tremendous impact the facilities management profession has had throughout the pandemic. On the night, it was wonderful to be able to gather together in person once again and to celebrate success.”

The event was opened by Thomson FM’s General Manager, Mark Whittaker (pictured below), who a fortnight earlier had become the new Chair of the IWFM. Continuing with the mental health theme, Mark mentioned in his address that his nominated charity for his two year tenure will be Mind.

Members of the Thomson FM team and customers attended the glittering event on the night and as a business are delighted to be associated with such a highly successful awards event, showcasing best practice and outstanding individuals and organisations within the profession.
