Survey team record details of 140,937 assets, in a 5 month project, in over 500 retail stores.
January 2019 saw the start of a five month project with a major UK discount retailer for the Thomson FM surveying team. The task was to visit all of our customer’s 504 stores across the United Kingdom and to carry out an asset collection and tagging of all their mechanical and electrical assets, including condition reporting. It was the largest such project undertaken by the consultancy to date.
Using i-Pads and Mobiess software (https://www.mobiess.com/), the survey team were able to complete the project both on time and on budget and deliver a consistent and accurate asset database to the customer, ready for uploading into their bespoke Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Vanessa Mason, Head of Asset Management at Thomson FM explained,
“This project, for such as high profile client, was our largest asset surveying project to date. The key to its success has been the deployment of our in-house surveying team throughout, who are experts in this field and by utilising the latest tablet technology and sophisticated asset collection software.
The customer now has an extensive and accurate asset database, which will be help them to drive their future asset management strategy. We are delighted to be working collaboratively with them on this next stage of the project.”
